Here, we will show you how to make a pumpkin flower arrangement – keep on scrolling for the shopping list and an easy to follow step-by-step guide.

What You Will Need to Make a Halloween Pumpkin Arrangement

  1. Pumpkin: Firsts things first, you will need a pumpkin – it can be any size or shape, it just depends how big or small you would like your Halloween pumpkin flower arrangement to be.
  2. Tools: The right tools are essential for creating the perfect Halloween pumpkin flower arrangements – we used our OASIS® Floral Knife for carving the pumpkin and our OASIS® Floral Scissors for cutting the flowers and foliage.
  3. Clear film: This is to try and keep the inside of your Halloween pumpkin flower arrangement fresher for longer.
  4. OASIS® Floral Foam Brick: This is to keep your flowers in place and provide a water source.
  5. Flowers and foliage of your choice: Go rich and warm or bright and bold, give your Halloween pumpkin with flowers lots of personality!

Step by Step: How to Make a Pumpkin Flower Arrangement

Find a clear space, gather everything you will need to make a pumpkin arrangement and follow along…

Step 1

Grab your pumpkin and use your OASIS® Floral Knife to cut out a circle at the top of the pumpkin and then scoop out all the ‘pumpkin’ brains.

Handy Hint: Why not keep the pumpkin seeds? You can either roast them for a tasty treat or why not have a go at planting your own pumpkins?

Step 2

Using your OASIS® Floral Knife, cut your OASIS® Floral Foam brick and test to see if it fits in the pumpkin hole. Normally a third of the brick is enough for a Halloween pumpkin flower arrangement.

Step 3

Now fill a container or sink with fresh water. Pop in your cut OASIS® Floral Foam brick and soak for around one to two minutes.

Handy Hint: You may be tempted, but don’t push the brick into the water, let it soak on its own. This way it will soak up more water, which means a longer life for your Halloween pumpkin arrangement.

Step 4

Line the pumpkin hole with waterproof film. This can be clear, patterned or coloured film, whatever you like! This should help keep your pumpkin fresher for longer.

Step 5

Place your soaked OASIS® Floral Foam brick into the lined pumpkin hole.

Step 6

Use your OASIS® Floral Scissors to cut your foliage and flower stems to size.

Handy Hint: Cut your stems at an angle. This will not only allow the foliage and flowers to soak up more water, but it will also help the stems insert into the floral foam with ease.

Step 7
Now it’s time to get creative! To create fullness and height, start inserting foliage into the OASIS® Floral Foam. Once you are happy with the foliage, let your creative flair run wild and start adding the flowers. This will add a pop of colour and really bring your Halloween pumpkin flower arrangement to life!

Step 8
Make your Halloween pumpkin flower arrangement the envy of Instagram and add some finishing touches. Wrap ribbon or twine around the pumpkin or even add wire into your arrangement. Here’s some of our favourite ribbons.

Now, step back and admire your Halloween pumpkin flower arrangement!

Handy Hint: This is also the chance to fill in any pesky gaps you may have missed when working up close.

We hope this step-by-step guide on how to make a pumpkin flower arrangement has left you feeling inspired this spooky season! If you make some festive floral creations this season, don’t forget to share them with us on Instagram and Facebook – we’d love to see them!
