The Best Easter Flowers and their Meanings

Hip, hop, hurray, Easter is on the way! Easter is one of our favourite times of year, there are extra bank holidays to look forward to, the weather is getting a little warmer (fingers crossed) and spring blooms are popping up everywhere!

If you are looking to create some beautiful Easter flower arrangements this year, whether that’s a colourful centre-piece ready for Easter lunch with the family or gift for loved ones (Easter Eggs and flowers make a dreamy combination), here are some of our favourite seasonal flowers that we think are perfect for Easter arrangements.

Daffodils

Daffodils are popping up everywhere! They are one of the first flowers to bloom in the Spring and we welcome their bright yellow colour and unusual trumpet shape! Daffodils symbolise new beginnings and are the ultimate bloom to add to your Easter flower arrangements and bouquets.

Because Daffodils have dedicate stems, if using with floral foam we would recommend using OASIS® Light Floral Foam, which is perfect for Spring blooms. Daffodils look fabulous on their own, tie a handful together with some jute fibre twine and display in a glass vase, jug or milk churn.

They also bring a pop of colour and interest to a Spring bouquet – mix with tulips and lots of foliage and proudly display on your windowsill – bringing the joy of spring, indoors.

Tulips

Nothing says Spring more than the beautiful Tulip! They come in a variety of candy colours and represent love, so are the perfect bloom for your Easter flower arrangements.

Tulips can be a little unruly, our advice is to use floral scissors to cut your stems to the desired length, gather and place them into a vase, jug or milk churn.

Don’t worry too much if your tulips fall to one side, we think this adds a bit of personality! Or you can tie your bouquet with twine to help keep the Tulips a little more stable.

Sunflowers

The days are getting brighter and the weather a little warmer (fingers crossed), so we instantly start to reach for the cheery sunflower – an instant mood booster. Sunflowers represent loyalty and adoration, so they give a bit extra something to your Easter flower arrangements.

Sunflowers look fabulous on their own, gather a few steams together and display in a vase, jug or milk churn. Or team with other spring blooms and foliage. Remember, sunflowers take up quite a lot of space, so you only need a few to make a bouquet pop!

We hope you enjoy creating your Easter flower arrangements. We always love to see what you get up to, don’t forget to share your designs with us on Instagram or Facebook.
